Voice Over IP Phone Descriptions

VoIP Telephone Physical Feature Descriptions for:

  • Cisco 7941G and 7941G-GE Models
  • Cisco 7961G and 7961G-GE Models

Physical features of these models are identical with one exception. The 7941G and 7941G-GE models have two buttons and the 7961G and 7961G-GE models have six buttons.

The phone set consists of a handset, an LCD, buttons and an adjustable phone stand.

Handset
The handset is located on the left hand side of the phone set and rests in a cradle.

LCD
A rectangular LCD is located to the right of the handset on the top half of the phone set and has a frame around it.

Programmable Phone Buttons
The programmable phone buttons are located on the right side of the LCD frame and arranged vertically. 7941 models have two buttons; 7961 models have six. The programmable phone buttons for both model phones are small and round.

Four Soft Keys
The four soft key buttons are located below the LCD frame and arranged horizontally. The soft key buttons are small bullet shaped buttons. When the phone is idle, the default soft key options from left to right are: Redial, New Call, Call Forward All, and QRT.

Navigation for the LCD
The navigation button is located under the third soft key (counting from left to right) of the LCD frame and arranged vertically. The large bullet shaped navigation button toggles up and down.

Keypad
The keypad is located below the LCD frame to the right of the handset. The numbers in each row from left to right are:

1 st row: 1, 2, 3
2 nd row: 4, 5, 6
3 rd row: 7, 8, 9
4 th row: *, 0, #


Feature Buttons
Four feature buttons and a help button are located below the right hand corner of the LCD screen, just below the fourth soft key.

The feature buttons consists of two rows with two buttons in each row, with the Help button situated in the middle of the feature buttons. The feature buttons are bullet shaped and the Help button is round. The Messages button is the first button in the first row; the Directories button is the second. In row two, the Services button is first and the Settings button second.

Volume
TheVolume button is located under the feature buttons. The long and narrow bullet shaped button toggles left to right.

Sound Control Buttons
Sound control buttons are located under the Volume button arranged horizontally. From left to right, they are: Headset, Mute and Speaker. The sound control buttons are small round buttons.

Adjustable Phone Stand
The phone stand adjustment button is located on the right hand side of the programmable phone buttons toward the back of the phone. The large bullet shaped button can be pushed in to adjust the large phone stand on the back of the phone set.
